Manama, Nov. 24. (BNA) His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa today stressed the need to join hands in order to bring about and consolidate peace all over the world, including the Middle East region, through the promotion of the peace culture and the principles of dialogue and mutual understanding so as to avert wars and conflicts and pave the way for development and prosperity.
"Promoting the culture of peace worldwide is a guarantor of development and welfare," he said as he received the US Federation for Middle East Peace (USFMP) President Sally Kader and Chief Executive Officer Ralph Kader.
"Peace, as a noble human value, requires an organised international effort, led by the United Nations and the civil society organisations, in order to spot conflicts and solve them appropriately," HRH Premier added.
"World peace cannot be achieved unless all parties recognise that protecting peace is the responsibility of all," he also said, calling for the need to activate world conventions and agreements in order to help solve disputes peacefully.
HRH Premier also underlined the importance of safeguarding peace and security in the Middle East region in order to allow its peoples to focus on development, calling for the need to enable the Palestinian people to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
HRH Premier also lauded the crucial role played by USFMP in promoting peace and understanding between peoples, reiterating the kingdom's stances in favour of maintaining world peace and stability.
On their part, USFMP's delegation congratulated HRH Premier on being granted the Millennium Development Goals Award in recognition of his statesmanship, pioneering role in promoting humanitarian work worldwide and keenness to safeguard world peace and stability.
